Whether you’re a technical whizz or technophobe we have been offering honest advice since 2003 on all aspects of sound, lighting, video, rigging and staging. We’ve worked with hundreds of customers from schools, colleges & universities to churches, community centres & venues. Our customers come from all walks of life, private individuals and voluntary organisations through to huge corporate entities, but our commitment to searching for the best possible solution by taking the time to understand their needs never changes.
We have grown our company with the vast majority of our work coming from word of mouth, talk to us to find out why.
2003 –Dan Dawson creates TSS after gaining a first class honours degree in Live Performance Technology at the University of Derby. TSS had humble beginnings run from a small garage in York.
2005 – An increase in work leads to larger premises. The decision to rent a back office in a friend's unit just outside York is made.
2006 – Our first staff member is taken on to deal with the demand for TSS. Our hire fleet of mainly lighting has grown and we’re carrying out more and more installations.
2007 – Our premises just aren’t big enough. We take over the rest of the unit outside York.
2008 – Another face is added to the family to look after our installation and servicing work.
2010 – We’re on the move again this time to Sherburn in Elmet to help us serve our client base better and to give us more room for expansion.
2012 – We’re up to 4 team members, work has taken us around the world and we’re recruiting again.
2012 – TSS are awarded sole distribution rights for the UK and Europe for Edge-Safe, a revolutionary stage safety product.
2013 – TSS become PLASA members to demonstrate our commitment to quality and industry best practice.
2013 - TSS exhibit at PLASA focus in Leeds. Our first trade show is a huge success meeting many new faces who are to become clients.
2015 – Another move into purpose built offices and warehousing in Sherburn.
2015 – Sharon joins the team, bringing us up to a team of 7
2016 - Another face is added to the team bringing us to 8
2017 - We open our dedicated Hire Warehouse, and add another team member into the Hire department
2017 - Our demo room is up and running for training, designing and product demos
2018 - We add a dedicated warehouse technician to the team to look after our 2 warehouses
We offer an in house repair service, and everyday essentials can be purchased including gel, lamps, tapes etc. Visitors are always welcome for a brew and a tour!
