Before Joining TSS I worked in a high school as a junior Theatre Technician, which I was then promoted to Theatre Technician once I had completed my apprenticeship. I have worked as a warehouse Technician at Technical Stage Services and also been a Premises Manager in a High School.
Why/how did you get into the industry?
I first got into the industry when I realised my passion for all things technical, moving into a high school with a specialist performing arts status meant that they had lots of cool equipment such as moving lights and a lighting console you could play frogger on…. if you know, you know! From then on, I wanted to gain knowledge in the lighting, sound and Video side of productions, since then I have studied a level 3 diploma in production arts, spent 4 years as a theatre Technician and also worked as a Warehouse Technician prepping all of the coolest tech available!

One of my favourite jobs I’ve done in the past was rigging and programming the lighting for Last Tango in Halifax, the most interesting gig has got to be Videoing and controlling the sound for Sir David Attenborough where he was opening an exhibition and doing a talk at a well-known museum in York City Centre!
